Hello, my name is John Hoff and like my home page says, welcome to SecureMyBlog.com. Like you, I too am a WordPress blogger. As of July, 2010, I've been blogging for nearly 4 years. During that time, I've learned a TON about WordPress and wp security. I've created dozens of how-to WordPress videos and have run a few blogs over the years. Unfortunately, I myself was once hacked and the chill and disgust I had of having my site hacked sprung me into this whole fight in keeping WordPress secure. I've spent years learning methods hackers use to crack into blogs, what their motives are, and how their best secret is the fact that they don't talk about it much. I created this website because my friends encouraged me to write down everything I know about securing WordPress and to offer it to anyone out there. In March, 2010 I released my first eBook, WordPress Defender: 30 Ways to Secure WordPress from Attack Anyone Can Do. But I hated technical manuals. In college and being a computer science major, I can't tell you how many technical manuals I've read over the years. And I gotta tell you something . . . I hated them all! It's all about the conversation! When I wrote WordPress Defender, I wrote it as if I were talking to my best friend who knew nothing about blog security and knowing he had to do it mostly with cut and paste knowledge only. And as I was writing, if anything looked even *remotely* challenging, I noted it down on a piece of paper and then went back and created a step-by-step video showing how to do it. WordPress Defender is part of me... That's how I like to think of WordPress Defender. It's an extention of me. Reading it and watching it is just like sitting So if you'd like to learn a little about me and WordPress security, Get WordPress Defender now or sign up for my FREE 10 day mini course on securing your blog. Why a sales page? I hate those! Sorry, I couldn't resist putting that comment above in yellow highlight! Bad, bad joke. I hate sales pages just like the next guy (or girl), but it's what I felt I needed to do to help promote the book. There are banner ads out there on other people's sites (some affiliates, some I advertise on) and they need to lead somewhere. My blog just didn't seem like the right spot to send and affiliate's customer to. Hence the sales page format. I hope that doesn't detour you too much, because I really am a nice guy and I really do care about helping you secure your blog against malicious intruders. ... and you gotta give me a little credit, at least this site isn't a single page sales letter simply designed to sell. I've got a free mini course, a number of security articles, about page, and contact page all on here. I tried to at least make it look *a little* like a normal website. With that said, I'll see you in the free mini course or in the book. © 2010 John Hoff, All Rights Reserved
